CREATIVE MOVEMENT IN SMALL BODIES

Creative movement guides a child to discover about themselves through the exploration of stimuli drawn from and the world around them. This dance form helps to improve motor skill coordination and develop the psychological well being of the participant. 


Objectives:
  1. To introduce students to creative movement training as a dance form and through the process of learning, understand about bodily and physical awareness, building on locomotor and non-locomotor skills, muscular coordination, stretching and safety in dance.
  2. To learn basic elements of dance for movement theme exploration and performance, creating opportunities to celebrate and appreciate the cultural diversity in a multi-racial community.
  3. Students will demonstrate their learning in the form of a group performance of each selected cultural festival in Singapore.
