Swimming Programmes
Swimming is a skill that can come in very useful throughout one’s life.
Learning to swim can reduce or prevent accidental death caused by drowning, which is one of the most significant worldwide causes of water casualties. Swimming teaches a respect for water and provides the ability to equip oneself with an immediate method of survival in times of emergency situations. In some professions, the ability to swim is an essential requirement (e.g. flight crews, emergency services etc).
Another of the many benefits of swimming is that it is great for health! Besides keeping fit, it enhances one’s sensory/motor development, self-esteem and well-being.
Along with being a lifesaving skill, swimming can make a whole range of water sports accessible, including surfing, wakeboarding, canoeing, dragon boating or water polo. It’s never too old to start and never too young to learn, so make swimming a part of your lifelong activities!

Self-Defence
Self-Defence is the act of defending oneself, one's property or the well-being of another from physical harm.
MOVING WELLNESS’ self-defence training not only teaches how to physically defend against attack, but also includes personal safety tips and techniques that increase awareness and improves the ability to avoid confrontation and potential dangers. To provide more practical self-defence, we use a combination of martial arts styles and techniques, and will customise training to suit the participants' lifestyles, occupations, age groups and gender.
Tai Chi
Tai Chi, short for Tai-Chi Chuan (太极拳) is a Chinese martial art that is practiced mainly for health reasons. The full study of Tai Chi Chuan involves three aspects:
- Health: An unhealthy or otherwise uncomfortable person may find it difficult to meditate to a state of calmness or to use Tai Chi as a martial art. Tai Chi's health training therefore concentrates on relieving the physical effects of stress on the body and mind.
- Meditation: The focus and calmness cultivated by the meditative aspect of Tai Chi is seen as necessary in maintaining optimum health (in the sense of relieving stress and maintaining homeostasis and in application of the form as a soft-style martial art.
- Martial Art: The ability to use Tai Chi as a form of self-defense in combat is the test of a student's understanding of the art. Tai Chi Chuan martially is the study of appropriate change in response to outside forces; the study of yielding and "sticking" to an incoming attack rather than attempting to meet it with opposing force. Learn the correct techniques from our resident Tai-chi expert (more than 30 years experience), and practice in a spacious quiet studio outside the elements of sun and rain!
Pilates is a physical fitness system that focuses on the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced, and which are essential to providing support for the spine. In particular, Pilates exercises teach awareness of breath and alignment of the spine, and aim to strengthen the deep torso muscles. Pilates is particularly suitable to treat previous injuries and weaknesses.
Yoga is aimed to unite the mind, the body, and the spirit, and is therefore considered therapeutic. It helps you become more aware of your body's posture, alignment and patterns of movement. It makes the body more flexible and helps you relax even in the midst of a stress-stricken environment. This is one of the foremost reasons why people want to practice yoga - to feel fitter, be more energetic, happier and peaceful. CardioFit
CardioFit is a course that incorporates aerobics and dance, working out every muscle in the body for health and figure benefits.
